Universitas Gadjah Mada and Gotion Indonesia Materials Collaborate on Battery Development Research

 

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – October 10th, 2023 – Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and PT Gotion Indonesia Materials formalized a partnership in education, research, and community service, with a focus on battery development. The collaboration was officially marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at UGM’s Rector Guest Room on Tuesday (10/10).
Representing UGM, University Secretary Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu, S.H., LL.M., welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with PT Gotion Indonesia Materials. He emphasized that this partnership opens doors for collaboration in various fields, particularly in battery development.

Dr. Andi highlighted that UGM’s Faculty of Engineering has been conducting extensive research into the technology for recycling lithium battery waste from electric vehicles. The collaboration is expected to bring mutual benefits and contribute to national progress.

 

 

“UGM is ready to collaborate in other areas as well, and we hope this partnership can be swiftly followed up,” he stated.
The partnership will not only focus on industrial battery research but will also include scholarships, guest lectures by industry professionals, internships, and campus recruitment activities.
