Gotion High-Tech Indonesia Participates in FGD on Safe Maritime Transport of Electric Vehicles

On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, Gotion High-Tech Indonesia took part in a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) titled “Safely Transporting Electric Vehicles – Best Practices for Ship Owners & Maritime Logistics”, held by PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) (Persero). The event took place at the Bhinneka Hall, Nava Building, North Jakarta, from 08.00 to 13.00.

This FGD served as a critical platform to explore the implementation of safety standards for transporting electric vehicles (EVs) via sea routes, addressing both operational and financial perspectives. With the increasing adoption of EVs across Indonesia, the forum emphasized the importance of proactive measures to mitigate risks such as fires or accidents during maritime transportation.

Representing the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (PERIKLINDO), Gotion High-Tech Indonesia underscored its commitment to supporting safe and efficient EV logistics. Mr. Dimas from the Research and Development (R&D) department of Gotion High-Tech Indonesia also delivered a presentation, contributing expert insights into battery safety, packaging, and best practices for maritime shipment.

The discussion brought together stakeholders from various sectors—including regulatory bodies, maritime industry players, EV manufacturers, and insurance providers—to foster collaboration and establish unified safety protocols. With increasing volumes of EVs expected to be transported across Indonesia’s archipelago, the FGD highlighted the urgent need for standardized guidelines and stronger inter-industry coordination.
